Thai Yoga Massage

The healing art of Thai Yoga massage is a 2,500 year-old sacred system with roots in Yoga, Ayurvedic Indian Medicine and Buddhist spiritual practice.  This interactive form of bodywork combines yoga therapy, assisted stretching, gentle rocking,  acupressure, and rhythmic compression along Sen (energy) lines.  At all times, the pace is smooth, rhythmic harmonious, and relaxing.

Thai Yoga Massage is quite different from Swedish and deep tissue massage.  While many practitioners have adapted and integrated Thai Yoga massage into their table massage routine, traditional Thai massage is practiced on a comfortable mat or futon on the floor instead of a table.  No oil or lotion is used during a session and the client wears loose comfortable clothing, such as a T-shirt and shorts or sweats to allow for maximum comfort while stretching.

Practitioners massage with their hands, forearms, elbows, and feet, while assisting the client in moving through a logical flow of asanas (yoga stretching exercises).  Clients benefit from receiving Thai Yoga massage by increased flexibility, looser joints, and achieving a more harmonious state of being as their body finds balance both physically and energetically.

This work is a living expression of compassion, loving kindness and healing.
